“For your future. For the next generation and for democracy.”

Margot Friedländer

On behalf of Margot Friedländer, we are building bridges to create a society that learns from the past, courageously stands up against antisemitism and all forms of exclusion, and works towards a free and democratic future.

A foundation to ensure remembrance culture goes on, a foundation for tolerance and humanity, for freedom and democracy.

Foundation

Background

The Margot Friedländer Foundation was established in the summer of 2023 by Holocaust survivor and honorary citizen of Berlin, Margot Friedländer. Its mission is to continue her life’s work, to carry forward the testimonies of eyewitnesses to the Holocaust when they can no longer speak out personally, to promote awareness of the Holocaust and to commemorate those persecuted and murdered under National Socialism, to advocate for freedom and democracy, and to combat antisemitism, racism and exclusion. The foundation is exclusively non-profit. Third-party projects are supported solely within the framework of existing grant programs.
To help carry on Margot Friedländer’s life’s work, the foundation asks for donations.

Patron

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier became the foundation’s patron in the summer of 2023 upon its inception by Margot Friedländer.
